چکیده
This research focuses on the application of an acousto-ultrasonics (AU) technique, a combination ultrasonic characterization and acoustic emission, to nondestructively detect defects such as voids in bonded metal/composite assemblies. Computational methods are established examine effects collected signal. The position receiver sensor with respect defect is also investigated. Given specific structure type actuation signal, location probability detection can be enhanced by model developed this work. optimal provided located around epicenter defect. Moreover, work highlights importance choice reception sensor.

Detection of Concrete Damage Using Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Method
This paper investigates the efficiency of Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) method in detecting cracks and flaws inside the concrete. A series of concrete beams and slab specimens were cast and damaged to simulate the different mechanisms possible in a reinforced concrete deck due to mechanical loading. Two types of simulated cracks, namely, cracks perpendicular and cracks parallel to axis of bea...
متن کاملComposite Damage Detection Using a Novel Ultrasonic Method
The nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of complex composite structures often requires labor intensive, expensive methods due to multiple failure modes, difficulty detecting damage, and the large scale of the structures. Conventional NDE methods have been successful but can be improved by incorporating ideas from other fields. In this work, the technology developed in the infrared camera industry i...
متن کاملInterrogation of Voids in SOlids Utilizing Ramp Function Ultrasonic Pulses
From some low fr·equency sea ttering investigations in radar, it is suggested that interrogating the target with "ramp" function has distinct advantages. This "ramp" function is a ramp in amplitude, not frequency. The returning echo is predicted to exhibit directly in the time domain, information of the cross-sectional area of a target as the ramp passes the target. From this information, one c...
متن کاملNumerical evolution of general relativistic voids.
In this paper, we study the evolution of a relativistic, superhorizon-sized void embedded in a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. We numerically solve the spherically symmetric general relativistic equations in comoving, synchronous coordinates. Initially, the fluid inside the void is taken to be homogeneous and nonexpanding. In a radiation-dominated universe, we find that radiation diffuses ...
